[Christine placed this here] This is a link to a paper which discusses a demand-driven learning model (McDonald et al, 2001, p.5) . It may be useful for us to use this as the foundation for our learning community? There is also a really nice and simple Communication medium model on page 7 (figure 2) which I really like. Keeps it  a lot more tangible I think.
